The clients for this project wanted a special feature with extra wow factor to complement their high spec kitchen.  A floor to ceiling vertical garden was the perfect solution, taking inspiration from the world famous botanist Patrick Blanc, the innovator of vertical garden systems.

The concept of the vertical garden provides a beautiful display of living ornamental plants, in addition to offering sculptural aesthetics and also great health benefits. The kitchen acts as the heart of this home, a space where the family congregates and spends time. The vertical garden now acts as the lungs to the home, purifying the air being one of its many beneficial traits.

The planting scheme was designed for both sun loving and shade tolerant species to flourish, with the position of the sun a critical design consideration. The system has an in-built irrigation system, key to ensuring the plants are watered and kept looking their best and a specially designed seating area around the base.
