Total transformation of a disused shady rear garden. We remodelled the space into a tropical themed oasis. We used Cedar battens for the perimeter fencing, built raised planter beds in blockwork and rendered these a bright white to uplift the dark space. We installed floating Balau hardwood seats into the walls, these doubled as a space saving design and also gave the option of alfresco dinning with a temporary table. A black pebbled water-feature wall was added for aesthetic and acoustic appeal. Light silver-grey Granite from London Stone was used for the paving. A colourful mix of lush shade loving plants set the whole garden. Large Specimen ‘Dicsonia Antarctica’ tree ferns, Nandina domestica and pleeched black bamboo gave this design a real wow factor. The garden was punctuated with LED lighting to allow the clients to extend their outdoor experience late into the night. We added a lot of elements to this garden but the over riding comment is that the space feels much bigger, attributed to good design and careful selection of materials.
